There photographer achieved excellent color control and graphical storytelling through repetition with variation. The photographer also captured strong micro expressions. SECOND PLACE-This is a real moment and a real reaction bringing life to what must have initially seemed like a dull assignment. THIRD PLACE-There was a great diversity of images and dedication to the event. The photographer arrived early and saw the event through to the end, gaining some privileged access along the way. The judges admired the overall coverage, but awarded first and second place on the basis of the strength of individual images.
