We liked how the first place photographer was able to tell the story of how a local fishing industry is being affected by oil contamination on its lake. The judges could almost feel the oil on our hands while studying the images and sympathize with the fishermen. In second place, there were some great images in the story of a trial of a man who was found guilty of setting his girlfriend on fire. And in third place, some redundant images but some really wonderful in the story of a house moving.
