Judges Comments

The judges say “Wow!” to the first place set of 15 images made over about a week during a protest over subway fairs and improved social services in Santiago, Chile. Each image helps us understand the violence of the situation. In second place, the photographer took us into the arrest coming from a noted drug house. And in third place, we liked that the photographer got to a great location to photograph a dog being brought out of a swamp after a rescue.
