It captures a great facial expression while utilizing leading lines, rules of thirds, and clean background while capturing the winning moment of the sporting event, which made it edge out the other entries. Second place: It was a unique entry compared to all of the other entries. The juxtaposition of the two horses, one dirty and one clean, stood out. Third place: We liked the position of the people. Alternate: The diving one was just interesting to look at.
