First place is a well-captured essay of the American drive-in theater. Made good use of visual variety and had a nice flow within the images. The photographer did a good job at capturing a sense of place and gives good situational diversity (We did miss the kissing in the car photo, however). Image 6 feels like it doesn't add to the overall theme. Second place is strong by the merit of time spent and intimacy involved in making these series of images. Images capture a very moving story. What greatly subtracted from the overall strength of the story was its apparent lack of intentional editing. Many images were redundant and the sequencing did not help play out the story as well as it could. Overall this category needs more submissions!
