First place felt like a peak action moment because of the one subject's hand colliding with the other's eye. Second place has a good sense of perspective and stops the action at a time where the composition comes together well. Third place shares the positive attributes of the second place winner. It captures the peek action from a perspective where the energy is moving towards the viewer making for an intense image. Overall the photographers submitting to this category should keep the background on the images in better consideration when capturing action. We also felt there were some images that did not belong in this category at all as they lacked any sort of action, or felt like more of a feature image.
