Well-entered category overall, but a lot of poor uses of wide angle
and a lot of center-focused, boring images got quickly booted. 1st
place - we like that the photographer took a chance with an in-camera
multiple exposure at a news event to make something a little more
layered and nuanced than the straightforward shot. 2nd - fun find
from an event that’s likely dreaded every year
3rd - Nice moment at a very canned event. Though the moment itself
was probably very staged (by Cruz), it’s got a nice feel — we’re even
willing to overlook the poor use of a wide angle lens here.
