The graduation photos that we selected for first place were not only the best set of images but also one of the only entries that actually qualified as general news. Just as many of the entries in the features category should have been entered into general news, most of the entries in the general news category should have actually been features and photo stories. The 2nd place image was a great moment within a news assignment. The 3rd image shows a good reaction, but should have included names in the caption.
