Clarity and cleanliness make first place stand out in a crowded category. It's a striking image, frozen in time and shows you don't have to have a ball in the frame to make a great sports picture. It's composed just right. We loved how the placement of the flying sand is just right in the second place winner. It's a nicely done, sand trap photo. We liked the lines in the third place picture, which work great with the high-leaping player.
