Not many entries in this category. First place was a clear winner. The caption was thorough. Second place was goofy and made us laugh. You don't see images/stories like this all the time. Third place was one of the few image that was actually spot news. We were curious about the toning. We wanted to make a note that there was an image (listed as an alternate) as part of a series of images entered as one entry that would have placed but because the entry was redundant, the image did not place. It's a dog watching a swat operation. Consider just submitting your best work only.
