First place is a great shot that shows the photographer was where they needed to be at the right time. It shows the human element in a nature news story. The second place series is hit and miss. Some of the frames are excellent, and individually could have been a contender for first place. A tighter edit would have greatly benefitted this entry. Third place is expected from spot news, but well executed. We'd like to see the frame a little looser.
