Judges Comments

The good news first. Very strong category. The bad news? Two of the entries had to be DQ'd because of too many photos, both were well done and would have placed in the top spot. Please check the new rules! As with all stories, editing must be paramount, what might be your favorite, might inhibit the project. First place was a well-done series of images with nearly every photograph telling a story. The black and white aspect to the photographs helped, but judges wondered if it was published that way. Nicely done. Second place was a story on a hospital wedding that was unusual and sweet with very strong single images therein. Judges favorite was the couple walking down the aisle. Beautiful. Third was a well done set of photographs that told a story, but left the judges wanting just a little more info. But still, the photos were strong with content. Toughest category to judge.
