Judges Comments

The addiction photo was clearly a winner in that it showed the photographer was handed a difficult task by not being able to show the subjects' faces and pulled it off beautifully. Great creativity and a different way of executing an assignment that could have been disastrous or cliched. The Cornel West photo grabbed us too, for it's striking light and well-balanced crop. we thought it captured his personality really well, too. The Bob Abbott photo was just heartwarming. Who doesn't love a photo of a sweet looking little old guy in his shop. Great light and nice environmental portrait.
