The homeless family as a tremendously COMPLETE story with a great sense of intimacy and empathy that that unified the pictures and drove the narrative. The drum major story also was complete series with access and intimacy clearly evident in the submission. In both first and second places the photographer seemed transparent in the execution with the moments coming through loud and clear. Third place was a creative and novel approach to a difficult topic where the photographer used diptychs in a project addressing survivors of sexual harassment and assault, although we found the captions a tad cryptic.
