Spot News sometimes gets lost these days because of pressing daily assignments and short staffing. So we are not surprised to see so few entries. The first place I-90 accident scene had some intensity and immediacy to it that the others did not. For the first image, we didn’t mind the tight crop on the left, but the right side needs a bit more breathing room. Nice work getting to the scene and making the shots. The fire photo had dramatic lighting and was well composed. The Yellowstone River rescue rounded out the three. We also wanted to give credit to school bus accident in Utah and the Buhl firefighter taking a breather on the back of the ambulance. Both were strong contenders.
