Photo Story/Essay -- This category had mostly collections of photos, some from events, without too many hard-hitting “stories.” We liked the “Peru Disappeared” piece for first because it had that moody National Geographic look of old traditions, candles and coffins. Second place went to the St. Mary’s Church package which included shots with wonderful light, close-up faces, rich scenes, details and moments. Third place, “A Boy and His Pig,” a sequential set of images, was at times whimsical yet serious when it came to an end.
