First place rose to the top. Opening shot is a thing of beauty. The entry captured many aspects of the wildfire fight in Mendocino and is rewarded with stunning images. The photographer for second place managed to get to the scene of the accident before paramedics and was able to capture the trauma and emotion there. Background was also nice and clean. Third place is a stunning picture where the colors pop. There was one entry that was well captured but belonged in General News where it could have placed.
