The Sports Feature photographs captured what was happening around the edges of the event, while still including the playing field. The first-place photo juxtapositioned the active expressions of the cheerleaders with the quieter wrestling in the foreground. All of the cheerleaders were involved in what was happening in front of them. The second-place photo draws us in because of the unusually moody lighting and the wrestler’s expression. All the winners relied on peak moments with good compositions.
