Judges Comments

First Place: The boxing pictures show intimate moments of interaction. The reason we chose it over the Bantu community soccer photos is that the boxer profile has more of a story line. The photo with the boxer and the little girl portrays genuine interaction. Second Place: We thought the soccer story has solid action photos, nice light and a good variety of focal lengths. The inclusion of the spectators sitting in front of an unused goal adds to the context, especially because the pictures are about an event organized by the Bantu community of immigrants from Somalia in Vermont. *We decided not to award a third place.
