First Place: We liked the way the foreground and background
worked together. The differing facial expressions and poses gave us
the sense that each child had a story to tell.
Second Place: We liked the graphic composition, the facial
expressions, and the photographer's resourcefulness in finding a
unique point of view.
Third Place: We admired the composition and the photographer's
ability to get a good photo out of the type of event that can be tough
to make interesting.
Also important to note is that one disqualified entry contained
selective color. This level of digital manipulation violates both contest
rules and the NPPA Code of Ethics.
