Overall, portrait/illo was not the strongest category and we were not super enthusiastic about the winners. Several entries probably would have even placed in sports feature instead of being classified as on the run portraits. 1st place, we appreciated the photographer's choice to go tight on the goalie's face. 2nd place, the photographer obviously gave a lot of thought to the lighting though we would have liked to see a little more separation on the bottom half of the frame where the prosthetics get kind of lost and the backlight is a little too intense. 3rd place, a standard sportrait but well executed
