Throughout the categories, we felt there were a lot of stories/packages that suffered from loose edits. We also had a long discussion about when does a Spot News event become General News. We felt that the shelters and clean up were General News.First place is a strong, compelling, storytelling single image. Second place is a story that has surprising images throughout and kept our interest. Third place is clear and concise picture package from a state funeral. Our Alternate pick is a longer story that could have benefited from a tighter edit, but that showed us a different perspective of a news event.
