Interesting light and framing in the first place image drove it above the rest. We felt the photographer took control of the situation to best communicate his/her vision for the image. Second place usedavailable light to their advantage, creating strong contrast for aninteresting story. Third place had a great group of elements availablebut they didn't all line up quite right. It's possible that by positioningthe subject or table differently, the photographer could've created amore symmetrical reflection and image. If a strobe was used, asofter/more even angle may have helped this image, as well.
