The judges liked the images but were dismayed by poor captions. We eventually decided that if the captions provided the bare minimum of information needed for publication, we would let the images speak for themselves. That being said, three of the four top photos do not identify the central character in the picture.The first place photo is nicely layered while still being a quick read.The photographer really adds something to what could have been a mundane assignment. Second place is graphically striking. The third place photo is also an attention grabber, made in just the right light,with an excellent caption.
