Each of these had something unique. First Place has good seeing and wonderful framing that took us to that solitary moment. The photographer realizes the sober scene and uses juxtaposition to pull that frame together. It has feeling. It isn’t a typical and tells us a story in a way we don’t usually see done so creatively. Second Place with the coach is a moment you don’t see at most basketball games, but the photographer got it and got it clean. The Third Place is a jubilation shot and has a funny fish. The photographer was in the action and got the moment.
