Judges Comments

Much of what we cover is pretty mundane, but if you're going to enter images in any contest it has to rise above the minimum requirements of focus and exposure. Far too many entries here were simply in focus and properly exposed and lacking in any deeper content. First caught us totally by surprise, we at first went right by it and then had to go back. It's just a great moment that could have been as easily missed by the photographer as it was by the judges. Second and third were both strong emotional moments, difficult to shoot sometimes and when they are cleanly composed and convey the emotion well they rise above the competition. Second was a touch cleaner and the emotion a bit more raw.
