1st: Stood out from the others as something unique. The strong caption with a nice quote helped push this one to the top. Different way of shooting a head shot. 2nd: Solid image. Clean and well composed. We weren’t a fan of her facial expression. She looks bored as if this were the lighting test before shooting the actual portrait. But it's a solid image otherwise from what could have been dull assignment. 3rd: Gave the judges a chuckle. Wondered if it should have been entered into Sports Feature, but it works as a portrait as well.
