Judges Comments

First place was the clear winner for us. The photographer appeared to spend a fair amount of time with the subject and was able to capture a variety of genuine, emotional moments. A sensitive look at a difficult subject. Second place featured a nice variety of angles and moments from an ongoing event. Third place capably captured a variety of wide and tight looks at a timely news event. We were left hoping, though, for a little more emotion out of some of the images.
