1. Not all photos need flames and this is a perfect example of breaking news without the chaos. It stood out because of being graphic and the fireman standing out as a pop of color. 2. This one isn't something we see everyday during structure fires and we liked that he was the main focus in the frame. 3. All of the elements came together - flames, smoke, and lots and lots of firemen.
