Most submissions to this category seemed relatively weak consisting of mostly snapshots of faces. First place was was amazingly shot under extremely difficult lighting conditions. The image also has just enough details that tell a story while still remaining a portrait. Second place, simply is a skillful capture of temporary lighting situation. Third was generally great technically but small details made it awkward (choice of background not matching caption and dutch tilt.)
