First place: Lots of people and emotion in this image, but we stayed with it because the photographer waited until all attention was directed inward. Second place: We were awed by the scope of the ambitious project. Solid images, but tighter editing and cropping might have made this a better grouping. Third place: Rim light gives the feeling of long overnight investigation. HM: The photo of three men pumping water out of the house was the best. We didn't see the need to add the other three images.
