This category was very weak. We felt there were several images that were entered into the wrong category. There were also submissions with edits that were much too big, including our third place winner of the reenactments. There were nice moments throughout the series of images, but they could have been executed better through technical handling or cropping (with the feet or during the photo editing Comments process). The three submissions that we chose as winners were all standard event coverage images. The images can and would be used in a newspaper, but we didn't see anything particularly exciting or unique about any of them through composition, mood or perspective, etc. It made it difficult to choose an order of winners.
