Judges Comments

First place was a clear winner with the timely news value of the subject, the layers, and the fact that this was probably taken on the way back to the car after the assignment was over. Second place was framed beautifully. Some of us wish that the photographer had talked to the girl's parents to see if they were related to the subject. Third place is raw emotion. The web of arms leading to the main subject is what set it apart. HW is a very funny moment of a community event. We weren't sure whether this was more appropriate for feature single or not. A few entries were hurt because they submitted multiple images as a single entry when one image stood out more than the others.
