We only awarded first and second place for this category because we didn't feel like there was an image that rose above to land in third. Just because there are flames in a photo doesn't make it "sexy". Next time check your camera settings and focus. There was at least one that could have placed in third if only time was taken to work the scene. First Place- Beautiful frame of a spot new event. Not highly active, but we really love the light, and the moment. The red truck really pops against the yellows. Second Place- Way to put this as a spot news photo story! As a photo story, we felt like this had several photos that could have been considered "placers". Way to work the scene and come away with some nice frames.
