first place we like how this image selection had stellar moments of quiet and active moments. The first image with an American flag being waved, cowboy hat and fans in the bleachers out of focus establishes the sense of place at a mutton bustin’ competition. The next three moments do a great job establishing action and/or a moment with the boy and girl hanging on and falling off the sheep, respectfully. The last image featured a quiet moment, but it tells the story of what happened. A man had to get his feet cleaned off after competing in the muddy mutton bustin’. The images are cropped well so it allows my eyes to travel straight toward the subjects. Toning was also done well on these frames and it allowed for subjects to pop up more in a photo. The photographer used natural and sunlight to his advantage, allowing subjects to pop out in the images. second place because it demonstrated the photographer anticipated the moment when the player would kick the ball. He determined what angle was best to show the force the ball travels in after was kicked. A nice sense of place was shown since the photographer took the frame wide enough so we could see it was shot on a football field. I really how the photographer used the framing, having his teammate beneath the ball that was being kicked in the air and the players out of focus in the distance around him. It’s good the sunlight helped properly expose the players and not make them too bright. third place. Is a nice moment that allows me as a viewer to see he scored. We also get to see his face and how much joy it brings to him to score in this game and flex his muscles. The photo could have been made even better if the photographer used Photoshop to diminish the highlights but increase the shadows so the subject is brighter. I also would’ve liked to see more faces in this photo from his teammates celebrating with him or the opponents holding their heads down or doing something that illustrates they’re mad he scored.
