Just three entries in this category.
First place was the most visual of the three - a story on a summer band camp. The photographer worked the situation well, finding different perspectives and points of view. We particularly enjoyed the photo of the campers running on a hill and the framing of the image of the band director sorting sheet music. This was another entry where we felt there were too many images shot from the middle distance - getting closer at times would have helped.
Second place captured the story visually. The image in the doorway with police guarding the door showed the tension in the story. Again, lots of images shot from the safe middle distance.
Third place was a nice story but there weren't any images that jumped out at us visually or that added to the storytelling. The hug tells the story.
