1st - This image was a great technical choice of the photographer. Using a drone to capture the size of the fallen tree was the right move and clearly and efficiently showed the subject.
2nd - This image also shined. The composition showed both sides of life and death within the frame, and the juxtaposition of it being a playground was interesting. The caption was also written well.
The judges did not choose to identify a 3rd place or honorable mention, there was not much to chose from and they stood out above the rest.
