We felt the metalman portrait showed the subject's essence best of all entries. We wanted to meet the guy after seeing this fun portrait; we felt his personality shine through. We appreciated the framing and use of lighting, too. The artist sculpture image sparked a lot of curiosity and left us wondering what we were seeing, but didn't celebrate the subject quite as much. The inmate firefighters image has a cinematic, freeze-frame quality to it that captivated us, as a group portrait.
