This was probably the most competitive category of this contest with many interesting, colorful moments. First Place: This image took first because of its simple composition that pops. It's a strong found moment and well exposed. Second Place: This image draws you in and makes you feel part of the moment. It's tack sharp and well exposed too. Third Place: We were drawn to the colorful composition with the blue hair matching the blue sky. We liked seeing a private moment in a public area. HM: Nice graphic moment, strong vertical. First: There is a sense of urgency which made it the photo closest to spot news in the category. Second: Tells a story of a barn coming down and the resigned attitude of its owner. Third: Good composition and light, good use of a smaller apertureCategory was weak overall, lacking spot news. Most are features. Many lacked a focal point, emotion or action.
