First Place: The photographer covered “Jackson Memorial” beautifully. There's a good variety of wide, detail and scene-setting images, and we especially love the colors and silhouette in the last photo. Second Place: We can tell the photographer worked hard to work the room and make interesting shots out of a stagnant event for “Spelling Bee.” It was nice to see the intimate first image, which isn't always documented in this type of coverage. Alternate: There were some good images in “Core Civic,” but we thought it definitely needed a tighter edit to place.
