The first-place story had some nice moments and was tightly edited. It had better visual flow than the other stories, but could have used more tight shots. Second place was a great story idea, but we wish the photographer would have followed it through to show the deer meat being delivered to the people. It had some redundant images and needed an edit and to be arranged with a better visual flow, or it would have been first. Same on the third place funeral pictures, this could have been entered in general news instead as it really wasn't a story and the photographer was locked into their shooting position from above and couldn't move around to get any emotion from the family in the first row.
