The first-place photo is well done and captures a strong emotional moment. The judges suggest paying attention to the edges of your frame. Cropping out the ear on the left side would make the image cleaner and less distracting. The second-place photo is also well done, especially considering the general news assignment was not very exciting. Great job finding a creative angle and going above and beyond. The third-place photo package has strong news value and tells a good story. However, including 20 images is a bit too much. A more selective approach would make the package even stronger. Try to keep in mind that less is often more.
