First: The football team has a storyline and is well-executed with wide and medium compositions and details, a favorite of the judges. The tight edit elevated this package where as the other package on the same team contained redundant images.
Second: The lede photo is the best single from the package which also had strong moments and interesting compositions.
Third: United Methodist story was interesting with strong journalistic captions, however image redundancy dragged it down.
