First place shows that the photographer knew and planned what they wanted the image to look like. We found it dramatic with the backlighting and it almost makes the viewer feel cold. Second place has a clean composition, nice toning and makes a good seasonal feature. Third place is a well executed decisive moment that required skilled planning to align with the full moon. We felt it was something you don't see often.
