First place went to DinahDance, a multiple-photo submission. Each photo was outstanding in its own way with both flash and existing lighting utilized well. One judge said "I found myself enjoying this set more and more each time I returned." Second place is awarded to 3YearOld, a tragic loss for this young couple and the community that were there to support them in their grief. Three photos entered in this multiple-photo entry. (We were a bit confused why a fourth photo of the same situation was entered separately. It would have fit and been allowed with the other images in 3YearOld.) Third place goes to HighRentBadProblems. "It deals with a news situation delicately and accurately" said one judge. Another opinion, however, is that this entry would have worked better in PSES or may be something to keep working on as an ongoing photo story. Would like to have seen more people in the photos, which would be a deeper dive into this very important issue. For the alternate is LuchaLibre, which is a very cool event and nice timing on the kick capture. A rousing crowd reaction in the background would have bumped this but it is what it is - the photographer showed excellent composition judgment and control of this wide angle view.
