1st. This image worked because of the long lens choice and position the photographer took for the image. The long train was compressed and made an interesting graphic image. We thought the overall image could've been brought down exposure-wise by a stop or so.
2nd. Really cool point of view and graphic image. It was a challenging picture to tell exactly what was happening without the caption, but we thought that added to the fun.
3rd. Not sure a lightning strike with a rainbow was exactly spot news, but it was definitely unplanned and the caption helped sell it. Loved the color and light.
