Judges awarded 7over70 because some of the images were quite solid. However, half of the portraits were not as strong as they could have been, which weakened the entry. Again "only as strong as your weakest image." Football Captains caught the eye of one of the judges enough to place second although the other judge felt this is a common portrait setup. Could such a situation have room for improved creativity for future sessions? Volleyball (3rd) had some good lighting and overhead composition but could there have been some added creativity to this portrait opportunity? Again, something to improve in the future. The portrait category is one where the PJ has the rare opportunity of control over the subjects, lighting and composition. So we encourage everyone to step up and bring some even greater creative vision to their future portrait submissions.
