First place uses the empty space to inform the reader of the emptiness and sadness of a missing daughter. There is a sense of loss combined with a good intimate expression. Second place has a good stare and body language that feels more intimate than the other images. Nice Rembrandt lighting on her face and a very direct look from her eyes.
