Judges Comments

First Place: “Flag Kid” is a nice ground-level view to tell the story of planting flags. Second Place: We liked the happy moment that was captured from overhead in “Graduation.” The angle it was shot from makes it different from other graduation photos. Third Place: “Bosse Grad” is a good graduation photo that gives the reader a sense of the happy environment. It's a busy photo, but we like how it takes the viewer's eyes around the frame to see what's happening. Alternate: We chose “Chestnut Record” as the alternate because the photographer captured an intense record-breaking moment, even when the subject's eyes are closed.
