First place made us think of a newspaper staff who stays in touch with members of the community who are happy to share stories like this. The photographer nailed key moments that helped tell the story. Second place captured moments also but definitely needed a tighter edit. Third place rose above also but, once again, needs a tighter edit. We thought that all of the stories were missing tight shots, macro shots even. One judge thought there is too much reliance on just wide angle lenses to tell the story.
